I said that I would be joining Small Web September, but unfortunately I haven't been able to have a chance to sit down and type something on this blog. That being said, I still want to join in SWS, so I'm making a post on my current OC project, and perhaps an upcoming IP.

The project name is "We can be cute too" with its concept being idols composed of girls from marginalized groups, that they can be as cute as conventional idols. It's based on my own experience being a butch who wants to present cutely, being from an identity not associated with cuteness. Currently I'm developing a plus size idol and a wheelchair DID system idol.

Tiara is the second OC I made for this project and the protagonist of the story. She is the energetic main girl archetype kind of character. Her age is 19-20 years old (I make my idol OCs adults because IRL teen idols horrify me...). It was a bit hard to think of her arc aside of her involvement in Sandra and Nila's arc, which I will talk about later, but I managed to think of one!

Tiara started out as having a simple goal, she wants to be an idol because she loves cute things, and she wants to wear cute outfits. But after realizing what is going on between her and Sandra and Nila she changed into becoming more altruistic. She grows to wanting to perform not only for herself, but also for others. She later wants to spread the message of cuteness to everybody. I like this idea as it encapsulates the main message I want to share using this project.

Sandra and Nila are the first OC I made for this project! Specifically, Sandra was the first OC I came up with, but after considering her disability and her being an idol, I ended up making her a system and adding Nila along as I thought she might need a painholder headmate. Their initial name was Sunny, but now it's being used as their system name. Sandra and Nila's names, well, came from Sun and -Ny.

Tiara is the protagonist, but many parts of the plot involve Sandra and Nila's in-system conflict. You can say that they're the deuteragonist of the story.

I started making a reference sheet of Sandra! I'm making this to prepare for my character design class starting next month.
